I do
Sweet little authentic place. Great Lunch menu, kids friendly, friendly personnel. You have to try the Bacon Brie sandwich! It's Bomb!
Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. The service was extremely fast and super friendly. I would definitely recommend.
Very pleasant. Good food. Nice service
Tasty clean food and friendly fast service. Perfect for a family lunch!
Service was great! Our waitress was super sweet. My husband & I went for breakfast, it's off season right now so we pretty much had the place to ourselves. My husband ordered the breakfast crepe.. the fresh bananas & strawberries were amazing. I ordered the mediterranean omelette, with hashbrowns. It was a bigger meal than I thought & if you're a fan of the greek olives, you'll love it. It was delicious!
We had a nice meal in a beautiful setting. I recommend it highly!
The lamb shank is excellent since it reminds me of so many delicious meals in small southern Spanish villages. Excellent Mediterranean patio dining.
Such a lovely little restaurant! I absolutely adore their outdoor sitting area. It's so peaceful that you forget how close LA and OC are to this rural chick setting. The food is great, I tried spanokopita and mousaka -- both were outstanding! Try their frappe drink, it's to die for! Not too sweet, but deliciously creamy, it left me wanting more (I should have ordered at least three of those lol). Our server seemed a bit swamped, so we had to wait for her to take our order, and then to bring it. But the wait was worth it--the food items were mouthwatering. And she was so nice and apologetic, I cannot even feel bad about this wait. For a dessert we had their baklava, which was pretty amazing. One of the people in our party tried baklava for the first time, and she just couldn't get enough of it.
The Lamb Gyro is AMAZING!Beautiful place for having brunch and lunch out doors, a lot of plants and flowers, very romantic. Right next to a strip of little restaurants and vintage shops!
This is a cute little restaurant next to the tracks. We had a nice brunch at this place. The French Toasts and Wild Berries Smoothie were good but the baklava wasn't. It tasted like something that had been frozen for a long time then thawed. I can't quite explain but it had a "freezer" taste, and it had tons of cinnamon on top (I love cinnamon but never had a baklava presented like this). We also saw hummingbirds really close to us while there. Be prepared to fight flies too.
Lovely little establishment. Been in the district a very long time. Professional and great food.
Great Mediterranean fare. The gyros were delicious as well as the house made hummus. Tucked away and a little hard to find parking, but worth the effort.
Cool little Greek/Medi stop at entry to the historic Los Rios District of beautiful San Juan Capistrano. Good food for a fair price point. Looks like a shotgun shack, but that's part of the charm!
This unique cafe has incredibly high customer service. Its is a different level of customer service.
Ordered the steak tacos and the steak was dry and flavorless
Didn't love the food, but the place is beautiful. The spanakopita was more frittata, the hummus was odd, and the falafel seemed to be made from a powder mix. The coffee was great though.
Loved this quaint and quiet little place. The salad was fresh. The only negative point was our server seemed to have to multi task. She seated us, provided menus, took our order, waited on customers inside as well on the patio. She didn't check back often but probably because she was doing it all.
Wow! This is a hidden beauty! We had the lamb shank and kehftefes! The lamb fell off the bone, the kehftefes had a complexity of flavors and the salads were stand out on their own right! I'm not sure what salad dressing they used but it was flavorful. Thank you, hummingbird for making our culinary experience of SJC a memorable one!
This place is beautiful. Open space outside. The food is good sizes. Good portions. I would come again. The staff is also very friendly
This place was anazing. The food was great as well as the service, it is not skimpy on the food either. It was nice that the lamb gyro was full of meat from begining to end. Will return next time i am back down.
Great service, good pricing, food was delicious and cozy environment. Will come back again for sure.
Delicious in food&atmosphere! Highly recommend.
A must if you’re hungry and taking the train, great to-go sandwiches! Cute garden patio to stay and enjoy the menu as well.
I love this place! It's my food go to in SJC... I ordered the lamb gyro with the lemon chicken and rice soup... Their tzatziki and hummus are also both incredible... Great outdoor seating area with great people watching along Los Rios...
Service takes a little longer due to a small kitchen but the food is amazing! Had the Mussaka
It was great! But our waitress forgot about us and we had to wait a long time
Terrible service! It's a manager was our server and he was rude and argumentative. The order was not satisfactory and they refuse to credit us even though it wasn't eaten. So many other good places don't bother.
Loved the lamb gyro and fresh, crunchy greek salad. Great area for a relaxing walk through old town San Juan Capistrano.
In the historic Los Rios district, on the oldest continuously occupied street in California. This is a must see area of San Juan Capistrano, just a couple blocks from the mission. We just had icecream on our last visit. But the menue looks good. You can also get here via Amtrack train from Los Angeles, CA.
Delicious food, & beautiful outdoor ambiance! We will definitely come back and visit.
The Hummus is amazing! The pita bread is so fresh! The juice and the lattes were also amazing. Our waitress was super nice along with everyone else who works here! Thank you for a great experience!
I highly recommend the Greek salad! It was seriously the best one I’ve had anywhere! Rumi was also a great waitress and super nice!
Nice greek menu, excellent quality and service, reasonable prices too. Outdoor seating. An old original historic house in the Los Rios historic district of San Juan.
We went there after eating lunch at Bueno Bueno. We got some ice cream and sat down in the patio next to the side street, The owner(i assume) overheard a tourist walking by who called the location a "tourist trap". He immediately in very broken English accused me of saying that and proceeded to throw me and my wife out of the restaurant. The tourist , whom I knew, came back, and after he confessed it was him who said it,went to the owner and told him. These are the typical perils of a hot headed foreigner doing business in this country. I will never go back there.
This was amazing food and great service. Loved it. Well priced also.
Awesome food, awesome personal. We are definitely looking forward to coming back.
The best place for food in San Juan Capistrano! Kids friendly, beautiful patio and greath service!
Consistently good, the dishes have enough Greek influence to be similar to a European dining experience.
Really adorable place, great area for walking around! Yummy desserts!
Easy to get to location, staff was friendly and service quick.
Had a hankering for fresh hummus, tzatziki, and pita bread so decided to give this place a try. It definitely hit the spot. Can't speak to the rest of the menu but based off what they offer and how good their hummus is I will definitely be trying this place again. I will say based off the price I payed I expected to get a little more product. Also the tzatziki had to much of a dill taste for my liking.
Visiting San Juan Capistrano, we came across this quaint little restaurant while strolling the San Juan town area of the Los Rios Historic District. It appealed to us because of the quaintness and the pleasant outdoor eating area. They provide easy ups over the patio area for shade. It is situated right next to the train tracks and just a couple of buildings down from the train depot. The atmosphere is very casual and relaxed. The menu has plenty of Greek inspired options. Our favorite was the hummus, pita bread, and the Greek chicken salad with chicken. The tomatoes were farm fresh and tasty. The chicken was well prepared and was plentiful on the salad. The menu prices seemed reasonable. Though it is very rustic, it offers a special ambiance that is keeping with the Old Town Area. I would recommend this as an overall good place to have breakfast or lunch when visiting San Juan Capistrano.
I love this location. I have been a customer for a number of years. They have some great menu items and a terrific outdoor area. It's just behind the San Juan Capistrano train depot which is a totally cool experience.
We arrived at this spot for a meeting. we heard about this restaurant from many people. Well, it was very successful. The crew welcomed us with a smile and we felt fantastic. The food was just great. We enjoyed every moment and we will definitely return to this restaurant. We recommend this place to all.
Great food. Great location
Great atmosphere and food.
Los Rios, San Juan Capistrano, has two restaurants on that street.I chose Hummingbird House Cafe. The atmosphere was nice, quaint. This restaurant has greek food. The food is simple, the taste of food is fair. I prefer hot, or warm food. Also, It would be nice if the presentation of food would have some color. I ordered an Ommelet. It came with one item. I have to be honest, I didn't get full.Price $13.47Overall, it was a good experience.
We've been there twice already, and ready to go back with a group of friends next week.....The food, the staff, are awesome!!We truly enjoyed the ambiance and where it sits in the beautiful San Juan Capistrano tourist section. Bring your own bottle of wine and enjoy!!
It's so retro and strange, loved our visit.
Long story short DON'T GO, BAD SERVICEHad one of the worst dinning experiences here today. Ordered chicken gyro no tomato and light red onions. Seems simple, well there were onions all over the gyro and I had a big bite of onion and gyro. On top of this I was out of iced tea and never got a refill offered. I had to get up and get my own....while the manager that was our server directed me to the iced tea. What a joke. When they dropped off our food our server (the manager that won't write anything down) asked if we needed anything else and I asked for a side of tzatziki that never showed up and when I asked about it he argued that I never ordered it. So to top off this horrible experience he would only refund 20% of my bill and made me partially pay for my screwed up order. This guy had obviously never run restaurant because they had about 5 tables at the time we were there and 4 servers. Time management was horrible and I feel bad for the owners but hey they hired this guy.
